Description

3 Ingredient Cream Cheese Sausage Dip is a creamy, savory party appetizer made with browned sausage, rich cream cheese, and diced tomatoes with green chilies. Ready in minutes, this warm and cheesy dip is perfect for game day, holidays, and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) pork sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 8 oz (225 g) full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 10 oz (283 g) can diced tomatoes with green chilies (such as Rotel), undrained

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 lb pork sausage and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until fully browned and no pink remains, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add 8 oz softened cream cheese to the cooked sausage and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Pour in the 10 oz can of diced tomatoes with green chilies, including the liquid. Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly.
  4. Cook for 3–5 more minutes, stirring frequently, until the dip is heated through and creamy.
  5. Serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables, or transfer to a slow cooker set to warm to keep hot during serving.

Notes

  • For extra heat, use spicy sausage or hot diced tomatoes with green chilies.
  • Allow the cream cheese to soften at room temperature for easier melting.
  • If the dip becomes too thick, stir in 1–2 tablespoons of milk to loosen the texture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently on the stovetop or microwave, stirring occasionally until smooth.
