Description

Air Fryer Beef Jerky is a protein-packed, flavorful, and easy homemade snack made with thinly sliced beef marinated in a savory blend of soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and honey. Perfect for meal prep, road trips, or healthy snacking without the need for preservatives or dehydrators.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef steak (sirloin or round steak): provides the chewy texture and rich flavor base
  • 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce: adds tangy, umami depth
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce: enhances savory, salty taste
  • 1 tbsp honey: balances the salt with subtle sweetness
  • 1 tsp onion powder: adds aromatic, earthy flavor
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional): for a mild heat kick

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, honey, onion powder, and chili flakes until well combined.
  2. Cut the beef into thin strips or squares, about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick, ideally against the grain for tenderness.
  3. Place the beef strips into the marinade, ensuring all pieces are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight for best flavor.
  4. Remove the beef from the marinade and pat dry thoroughly with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  5. Arrange beef strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overlap.
  6. Set the air fryer to 210°F (100°C) and cook for 2 hours.
  7. Check the jerky; if not fully dried, continue cooking in 15–20 minute intervals until dry but pliable. Internal temperature should reach 160°F (71°C).
  8. Let jerky cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Freeze meat for 30 minutes before slicing for easier cutting.
  • Use lean beef cuts to avoid spoilage from fat.
  • Adjust chili flakes based on your spice preference.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temp for up to 1 week, or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
  • Ensure the jerky reaches 160°F for food safety.
