- 12 Hawaiian rolls
- 12 slices cheese (cheddar, Swiss, pepper jack, or provolone)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (optional for glaze)
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar (for glaze)
- 3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (for glaze)
- 1/2 tablespoon sesame seeds (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix ground beef, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Press the beef into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Bake for 20 minutes, then drain the liquid.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the diced onions in olive oil until translucent, then drain any excess oil.
- Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom half in the baking dish.
- Layer the cooked beef, sautéed onions, and cheese slices over the rolls, then top with the remaining roll halves.
- Mix melted butter with brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and sesame seeds. Brush over the tops of the rolls.
- Bake for an additional 20 minutes until golden and melty. Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Use lean beef to minimize excess grease.
- Drain the beef and onions well to prevent soggy sliders.
- Tent the rolls with foil if they brown too quickly.
- Customize with different cheeses or ground meats.
- Sliders can be assembled ahead and baked fresh when needed.
