Description
These easy baked churros are a quick, delicious dessert made with flaky puff pastry, dipped in melted butter, and rolled in cinnamon sugar. They’re oven-baked, not fried, and ready in just 15 minutes—perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth without the mess of deep frying.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place the thawed puff pastry on a cutting board. Cut it in half lengthwise, then cut each half into 1-inch wide strips. You should have 18–22 strips total.
- Arrange the strips on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While churros are baking, melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl.
- In a separate bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar together.
- Let the baked churros cool slightly, then dip each into the melted butter and roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
- Place churros back on the baking sheet to set. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Use gluten-free puff pastry for a gluten-free option.
- Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 1–2 days.
- Reheat in a toaster oven to regain crispiness before serving.
- You can customize the flavor by adding a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the cinnamon sugar.
