Description

Baked Cream Cheese Chicken is a rich and creamy dish where tender chicken breasts are smothered in a silky, garlic-infused cream cheese sauce. Perfect for weeknights, this comforting meal requires just 10 minutes of prep and delivers maximum flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (optional, for topping)
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika on both sides.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sear the chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and cook for 1-2 minutes to reduce slightly.
  6. Add cream cheese and stir until the sauce becomes smooth. Add chives and adjust seasoning to taste.
  7. Place seared chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish and pour the cream cheese sauce over them.
  8. Top with shredded cheddar cheese if desired.
  9. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  10. If using cheese, broil for 2-3 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  11. Let rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

  • If you’re using thick chicken breasts, consider pounding them to ensure even cooking.
  • For added flavor, stir in a handful of spinach or sun-dried tomatoes.
  • Leftovers reheat wonderfully in the microwave or oven.
  • To make it dairy-free, substitute cream cheese with a dairy-free alternative.
