			- 1 pound ground Italian sausage
- 1/2 white onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (18 to 22-ounce) package frozen cheese tortellini
- 1 (14 to 16-ounce) jar pizza sauce
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed cheddar cheese soup, undiluted
- 1 (3.5-ounce) package pepperoni, divided
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 (8-ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese (2 cups), divided
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly spray a 13×9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage with the onions until it is cooked through and no longer pink. Add the garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Drain away the grease.
- In a large bowl, combine the uncooked tortellini, pizza sauce, cheddar cheese soup, Italian sausage with onions and garlic, about three-quarters of the pepperoni, salt, and half of the shredded mozzarella. Stir to combine.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared dish and top with the remaining cheese and leftover pepperoni. Add any other pizza toppings you desire, such as olives or mushrooms.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden.
Notes
- You don’t need to thaw the frozen tortellini before baking.
- Feel free to swap the pepperoni for other pizza toppings like black olives, mushrooms, or bell peppers.
- This recipe can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking.
