- 1 package (5.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/3 cup full-fat sour cream
- 1 1/4 cups whipped cream (homemade or store-bought)
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 3 medium bananas, sliced
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup vanilla wafers (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Crush vanilla wafers into fine crumbs and mix with melted butter until combined. Press firmly into a pie dish to form the crust and freeze for 15 minutes.
- In a bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together instant pudding mix and whole milk until smooth and thickened.
- Add sour cream and salt to the pudding mixture and mix until fully combined.
- Gently fold 1 1/4 cups of whipped cream into the pudding mixture to keep it light and airy.
- Remove crust from freezer and arrange sliced bananas evenly over the bottom.
- Spread the pudding filling over the bananas, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours or until fully set.
- Before serving, top with remaining whipped cream, additional banana slices, and crushed vanilla wafers if desired.
- Slice and serve chilled.
