Description

Bang Bang Salmon Bites are tender, seasoned chunks of salmon tossed in a creamy, spicy homemade bang bang sauce and air fried to crispy perfection. Ready in under 30 minutes, they’re perfect as an appetizer, main dish, or part of a flavorful rice bowl.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ pounds salmon (about 4 filets), skins removed and cut into 1-inch bites
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Sriracha (or more to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Chives, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add salmon bites to the bowl and toss gently to coat evenly with the seasoning.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey to make the bang bang sauce.
  5. Divide the sauce in half. Use one half to toss the seasoned salmon; reserve the other half for drizzling after cooking.
  6. Arrange salmon bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd.
  7. Air fry for 4–5 minutes, flip the pieces, and cook for another 4–5 minutes, or until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 140–145°F.
  8. Transfer to a plate and drizzle with the reserved sauce.
  9. Garnish with chopped chives and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can bake the salmon at 400°F for 16 minutes instead of air frying. Toss with sauce after baking.
  • Use Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise for a lighter sauce.
  • Adjust the Sriracha based on your spice tolerance.
  • Do not coat the salmon with sauce before baking—it will burn.
  • Store leftover sauce in the fridge for up to a week.
