Description
A hearty, beginner-friendly biscuits and gravy breakfast casserole made with sausage, eggs, cheese, and creamy gravy—perfect for brunch or make-ahead meals.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8-count package of biscuit dough (e.g., Pillsbury Grands)
- 6 eggs
- 1 (2 3/4 oz) package peppered gravy mix (makes 2 cups)
- 1 lb pork sausage (any flavor)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., Colby Jack or cheddar)
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 13×9-inch baking dish.
- Brown the sausage in a skillet, breaking it into crumbles. Drain excess grease.
- Cut biscuit dough into 1-inch pieces and spread evenly in the prepared dish.
- Layer the cooked sausage over the biscuits, followed by shredded cheese.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour evenly over the layered ingredients.
- Prepare the gravy according to package directions, then pour it over the casserole.
- Bake uncovered for 35–45 minutes, or until biscuits are golden and eggs are set. Tent with foil if browning too quickly.
Notes
- Assemble the night before and refrigerate—add 15–20 minutes to baking time when cold.
- Cover with foil during baking if the top browns too quickly.
- Double the gravy if you like it extra saucy or want some on the side.
- You can substitute crescent rolls or use bacon instead of sausage.
