Description

A hearty, beginner-friendly biscuits and gravy breakfast casserole made with sausage, eggs, cheese, and creamy gravy—perfect for brunch or make-ahead meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8-count package of biscuit dough (e.g., Pillsbury Grands)
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 (2 3/4 oz) package peppered gravy mix (makes 2 cups)
  • 1 lb pork sausage (any flavor)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., Colby Jack or cheddar)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 13×9-inch baking dish.
  2. Brown the sausage in a skillet, breaking it into crumbles. Drain excess grease.
  3. Cut biscuit dough into 1-inch pieces and spread evenly in the prepared dish.
  4. Layer the cooked sausage over the biscuits, followed by shredded cheese.
  5. Whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour evenly over the layered ingredients.
  6. Prepare the gravy according to package directions, then pour it over the casserole.
  7. Bake uncovered for 35–45 minutes, or until biscuits are golden and eggs are set. Tent with foil if browning too quickly.

Notes

  • Assemble the night before and refrigerate—add 15–20 minutes to baking time when cold.
  • Cover with foil during baking if the top browns too quickly.
  • Double the gravy if you like it extra saucy or want some on the side.
  • You can substitute crescent rolls or use bacon instead of sausage.
