Description

Ingredients

  • 8 oz macaroni or similarly shaped pasta
  • 1 block Boursin cheese (any flavor)
  • 1 packed cup freshly shredded white cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/41/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour


Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. In the same pot or a clean saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour until smooth and lump-free.
  3. Gradually pour in the heavy cream while whisking constantly. Warm the mixture without letting it boil.
  4. Add the Boursin cheese and shredded white cheddar, stirring until fully melted and creamy. If too thick, add milk gradually to loosen the sauce.
  5. Combine the cooked pasta with the cheese sauce, stirring to coat evenly.
  6. Optional: In a small pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and toast the breadcrumbs until golden. Sprinkle over the mac and cheese before serving.
