Description

This creamy Broccoli Salad is a crunchy, sweet, and savory side dish made with fresh broccoli florets, crispy bacon, dried cranberries, sliced almonds, and a tangy mayonnaise dressing. Perfect for potlucks, BBQs, and family dinners, it is easy to make ahead and always a crowd favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1½ tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1⅓ pounds fresh broccoli florets, finely chopped
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked crispy and chopped
  • ⅓ cup red onion, finely chopped
  • ½ cup sweetened dried cranberries
  • ⅓ cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, granulated sugar, apple cider vinegar, and black pepper until smooth and creamy.
  2. Chop the broccoli florets into small, bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Cook the bacon until crispy, drain on paper towels, then chop into small pieces.
  4. Add the chopped bacon, red onion, dried cranberries, and sliced almonds to the bowl with the broccoli.
  5. Pour the prepared dressing over the salad ingredients and toss thoroughly until everything is evenly coated.
  6. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 to 2 hours to allow the flavors to blend.
  7. Toss again before serving and adjust seasoning if needed.

Notes

  • For best flavor, chill the Broccoli Salad for a few hours before serving.
  • If you prefer softer broccoli, blanch it in boiling water for 1–2 minutes, then rinse with cold water and dry thoroughly.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • You can substitute pecans, walnuts, or sunflower seeds for the almonds.
  • For a lighter version, replace part of the mayonnaise with plain Greek yogurt.
