Description
A quick and easy appetizer made with just three ingredients—little smokies, bacon, and brown sugar—perfect for parties or beginner cooks.
Ingredients
- Little smokies sausages – about 1 package
- Thin-cut bacon – sliced in half
- Brown sugar – approximately 1/2 to 3/4 cup
- Toothpicks for securing
- Optional: Black pepper, paprika, or chili powder for added flavor
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut bacon slices in half. Wrap each little smoky with a half slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
- Add brown sugar to a zip-top bag and gently shake a few wrapped sausages at a time to coat them.
- Place sugar-coated sausages on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle any extra brown sugar and optional pepper on top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until the bacon is crispy and sugar caramelized. For extra crispiness, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.
- Let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use a wire rack on your baking sheet to help bacon crisp evenly.
- Wrap and sugar-coat ahead of time for convenience—store in fridge up to 24 hours before baking.
- Line the baking sheet with parchment for easier cleanup.
- Reheat leftovers in the oven or air fryer to retain texture.
