Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (500g) Ground Beef (10–12% fat)
- 1/2 cup (125ml) Beef Stock
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tsp Cornstarch (or Cornflour)
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
- Olive Oil, as needed
- 4 large Flour Tortillas
- 8 rashers Bacon, cooked to preference
- 8 slices American Cheese
- 1/4 head Lettuce, shredded
- 1 medium Tomato, diced
- 1/2 medium White Onion, finely diced
- 4 tbsp Diced Pickles
- 4 tbsp Burger Sauce
Instructions
- In a large frying pan over medium heat, add a drizzle of olive oil and ground beef. Break it apart with a wooden spoon and cook until almost fully browned.
- Drain excess fat if needed. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Continue to cook until fully browned.
- Mix cornstarch into beef stock and pour into the pan along with Worcestershire sauce. Simmer until the liquid thickens and the beef becomes glossy but not saucy.
- Warm the flour tortillas in the microwave for 10 seconds to make folding easier.
- Lay each tortilla on a flat surface and add shredded lettuce, pickles, onions, and diced tomato to the center-bottom.
- Drizzle burger sauce over the veggies. Top with two rashers of cooked bacon.
- Add a generous spoonful of the cooked beef, then place two slices of American cheese on top.
- Fold the bottom of the tortilla over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll tightly like a burrito.
- (Optional) Place seam-side down on a hot griddle pan and toast until golden and crispy, rotating to char all sides. Add a pinch of cheese at the seam to seal the wrap if desired.
- (Alternative) Bake wrapped burritos in foil at 180°C (356°F) for 15–20 minutes until heated through and slightly crispy.
Notes
- Cool beef before assembling if making wraps ahead of time to avoid sogginess.
- Use 10–12% fat ground beef for best juiciness and flavor.
- Warming tortillas helps prevent cracking when rolling.
- Grilling seam-side down with cheese at the seam helps seal the wrap.
- Can be frozen after assembling for up to 2 months.
