Description

Cheesy Halloween Breadstick Bones are a spooky and fun snack made with pizza dough, mozzarella, Parmesan, and marinara sauce for dipping. Perfect for Halloween parties, these breadsticks are easy to make and deliciously cheesy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Marinara sauce for dipping
  • All-purpose flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Divide the pizza dough into 10 equal portions and roll each portion into a rope about 8 inches long. Ensure the ends are thicker than the middle to create a bone effect.
  3. Use kitchen scissors to make two small cuts (about 1 inch deep) at both ends of each dough rope. Stretch the ends to form bone-like shapes.
  4. Brush the shaped dough with melted butter using a pastry brush. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  5. Bake the breadsticks in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until they start turning golden brown.
  6. After 15 minutes, remove the breadsticks and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Return them to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the mozzarella is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove the breadsticks from the oven and serve them warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Let the pizza dough come to room temperature for easier handling and shaping.
  • Use kitchen scissors for cleaner cuts when shaping the bone ends.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan and mozzarella cheese work best for a smooth melt.
  • Don’t overload with mozzarella to prevent sogginess.
  • You can make these breadsticks a day in advance and reheat them in the oven to keep them crispy.
  • For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free pizza dough, and for dairy-free, opt for vegan cheese and butter.
