Description
Cheesy Sausage Wonton Cups are a quick and easy appetizer made with savory sausage, melted cheese, crunchy wonton wrappers, and a creamy ranch twist.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb original country sausage
- 8 oz Mexican blend shredded cheese
- 3/4 cup chopped red and green bell peppers
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing
- 12 oz wonton wraps
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook, breaking it apart, until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
- While the sausage is cooking, finely chop red and green bell peppers until you have about 3/4 cup total.
- Spray or lightly grease a muffin tin and press one wonton wrap into each cup. Bake for 5–10 minutes until lightly browned.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, shredded cheese, chopped peppers, and ranch dressing. Stir until well mixed.
- Spoon the filling evenly into the pre-baked wonton cups. Return the muffin tin to the oven and bake for another 5–10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the wonton edges are golden and crisp.
- Let cool slightly before removing from the tin. Serve warm.
Notes
- Substitute cheddar or Colby Jack cheese if preferred.
- Use jalapeños instead of bell peppers for a spicy version.
- Pre-baking the wontons ensures a crispier base.
- Reheat leftovers in an oven or air fryer to retain crunch.
