Description

Cheesy Sausage Wonton Cups are a quick and easy appetizer made with savory sausage, melted cheese, crunchy wonton wrappers, and a creamy ranch twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb original country sausage
  • 8 oz Mexican blend shredded cheese
  • 3/4 cup chopped red and green bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 12 oz wonton wraps

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook, breaking it apart, until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
  2. While the sausage is cooking, finely chop red and green bell peppers until you have about 3/4 cup total.
  3. Spray or lightly grease a muffin tin and press one wonton wrap into each cup. Bake for 5–10 minutes until lightly browned.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, shredded cheese, chopped peppers, and ranch dressing. Stir until well mixed.
  5. Spoon the filling evenly into the pre-baked wonton cups. Return the muffin tin to the oven and bake for another 5–10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the wonton edges are golden and crisp.
  6. Let cool slightly before removing from the tin. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Substitute cheddar or Colby Jack cheese if preferred.
  • Use jalapeños instead of bell peppers for a spicy version.
  • Pre-baking the wontons ensures a crispier base.
  • Reheat leftovers in an oven or air fryer to retain crunch.
