Description

Chocolate Puff Pastry is a quick, 3-ingredient dessert made with frozen puff pastry, dark chocolate chips, and powdered sugar. Flaky, golden, and filled with melted chocolate, these pastries are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a simple dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry: provides the buttery, flaky layers
  • 1 cup dark (semisweet) chocolate chips: adds rich, melted chocolate inside
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar: for a light, sweet finishing touch

Instructions

  1. Thaw the frozen puff pastry according to the package instructions.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Place one sheet of thawed puff pastry on a cutting board and cut it into 6 rectangles (approximately 3 x 5 inches).
  4. Evenly scatter half of the chocolate chips over the pastry rectangles.
  5. Starting from the short edge, roll each rectangle to enclose the chocolate chips.
  6. Repeat with the second sheet of puff pastry and remaining chocolate chips.
  7. Arrange pastries seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the pastries are puffed and golden brown.
  9. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure the oven is fully preheated before baking to ensure proper puffing.
  • Keep puff pastry cold while working to avoid sticking and tearing.
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  • Do not overfill with chocolate or it may leak during baking.
