Christmas Eggnog Bread

Christmas Eggnog Bread Recipe

This Christmas Eggnog Bread is a festive, moist, and flavorful quick bread, perfect for the holiday season. With warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, it brings the comforting taste of eggnog into every bite. Great for breakfast, dessert, or as a holiday gift!

  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 loaf (about 12 slices) 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Combine the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt. Ensure all the ingredients are well mixed.
  3. Mix the wet ingredients: In another bowl, combine the eggnog, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  4. Combine wet and dry mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the bread tough. If you’re using pecans, fold them in at this stage.
  5. Prepare to bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake: Place the pan in the oven and bake for 50-60 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool and serve: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use quality eggnog: The eggnog is the star of this recipe. Using a high-quality, creamy eggnog will elevate the flavor.
  • Customize your bread: If you’re not a fan of pecans, try using walnuts or leaving them out entirely.
  • Spice it up: Feel free to adjust the spices to your liking. Add a pinch of cloves or allspice for extra warmth.
  • Make it gluten-free: Substitute the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend if needed.
