Ingredients
Scale
- 36 Oreo cookies (about 1 standard package): crushed into fine crumbs
- 8 oz (226g) cream cheese: softened to mix smoothly with Oreo crumbs
- 12 oz (340g) white candy melts: for coating the Oreo balls
- 1/2 cup green candy melts: for decorative drizzle
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil or shortening (optional): to thin candy melts for smoother coating
- 2 tbsp Christmas sprinkles: for decoration and texture
Instructions
- Place Oreos in a food processor and pulse into fine crumbs. Alternatively, crush them in a zip-top bag using a rolling pin.
- In a large bowl, mix the Oreo crumbs and softened cream cheese until a thick, dough-like consistency forms.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Freeze the balls for at least 20 minutes or until firm.
- Melt the white candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl according to package directions. Stir in vegetable oil if needed for smoothness.
- Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted white coating, tap off excess, and place back on the parchment paper.
- Melt the green candy melts and drizzle over the coated balls for a festive look.
- Before the coating sets, sprinkle the tops with Christmas sprinkles.
- Let the balls sit at room temperature or refrigerate until fully set.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- Make sure cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing.
- Use a fork or dipping tool to coat the balls evenly.
- Only remove a few Oreo balls from the freezer at a time to keep them firm while dipping.
- You can freeze undipped Oreo balls for up to 2 months for later use.
