Description
Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups are a sweet and simple breakfast treat made with soft bread, a cinnamon-sugar filling, and a French toast coating.
Ingredients
Scale
- 10 slices white sandwich bread
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2–3 tablespoons butter (for frying)
Instructions
- Remove the crusts from the bread slices and flatten each slice with a rolling pin.
- Mix melted butter, brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons cinnamon in a small bowl. Spread over each bread slice, leaving a small border.
- Roll up each slice tightly and press gently to seal the edge.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and vanilla extract to make the batter.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a bit of butter.
- Dip each roll-up in the egg mixture, coat evenly but don’t oversoak.
- Place seam-side down in the skillet and cook, turning to brown all sides, about 2–3 minutes total.
- Transfer to a plate and serve warm with toppings of your choice.
Notes
- Use soft, fresh bread for easier rolling.
- Don’t oversoak in egg mixture to avoid sogginess.
- Cook seam-side down first to help seal the roll.
- Reheat leftovers in a skillet or toaster oven for best texture.
- Freezes well for up to 1 month—just reheat directly from frozen.
