Description

Coffee mousse is a light, creamy, no-bake dessert made with whipped cream, cream cheese, and instant coffee. This easy recipe creates a silky, airy texture with rich coffee flavor, making it a perfect make-ahead dessert for dinner parties or everyday sweet cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups (360 ml) cold heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup (60 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee granules
  • 8 oz (226 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (optional garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons grated dark chocolate (optional garnish)
  • 6 whole coffee beans (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups cold heavy cream and 1 tablespoon instant coffee granules. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until the coffee dissolves and soft peaks begin to form.
  2. Gradually add 1/2 cup powdered sugar while continuing to beat the mixture until stiff peaks form. Set the whipped coffee cream aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat 8 oz softened cream cheese with a mixer until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to the cream cheese and mix until fully combined.
  5. Using a spatula, gently fold the whipped coffee cream into the cream cheese mixture until smooth and no streaks remain.
  6. Spoon or pipe the mousse mixture evenly into 6 serving glasses or dessert bowls.
  7. Smooth the tops with a spoon or create decorative peaks.
  8. Refrigerate the coffee mousse for at least 1 hour to allow it to set and develop a creamy texture.
  9. Before serving, garnish with cocoa powder, grated chocolate, or whole coffee beans if desired.

Notes

  • Make sure the heavy cream is very cold for the best whipped texture.
  • Allow the cream cheese to soften at room temperature to avoid lumps in the mousse.
  • Fold the whipped cream gently to maintain the light and airy consistency.
  • For stronger coffee flavor, add an extra 1/2 teaspoon espresso powder.
  • The mousse can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in covered containers.
