Ingredients

  • 2 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for searing)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for sauce)
  • 8 cloves garlic, smashed and minced
  • 3/4 cup white wine or chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Slice each chicken breast horizontally to create two thinner fillets.
  2. Season both sides of the chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken for 2–3 minutes per side until golden, then remove from the skillet.
  4. Add the remaining butter and garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  5. Pour in the wine or broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up any brown bits. Let it simmer for 5–6 minutes to reduce slightly.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet, nestle it into the sauce, and transfer the pan to the oven. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.

  • Use fresh garlic for the best flavor—pre-minced can work but is less aromatic.
