Crispy maple mustard pork belly bites made in the air fryer or oven, coated in a sweet and tangy glaze. Perfect for easy appetizers or quick meals.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ pounds pork belly, patted dry, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 3 tablespoons canola oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ cup pure maple syrup
- 4 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1 ½ teaspoons apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
- In a large bowl, combine canola oil, kosher salt, and black pepper.
- Add the pork belly pieces and toss until each piece is evenly coated.
- Place the pork belly in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 18–20 minutes, flipping or shaking the basket a couple of times.
- In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar to make the glaze. Reserve a few tablespoons for dipping, if desired.
- Transfer cooked pork belly to a clean bowl and toss with the glaze while hot.
- Serve warm with reserved glaze on the side for dipping.
Notes
- Use pure maple syrup for the best flavor.
- Trim excess fat from pork belly if needed but keep some for texture.
- Bake at 400°F for 42–45 minutes if you don’t have an air fryer.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
- Reheat in air fryer or oven to maintain crispiness.
