Description

Easter Bunny Chow is a sweet and crunchy no-bake snack mix made with Chex cereal coated in melted chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar, then tossed with pastel candies and festive sprinkles for a colorful Easter treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 cups Chex cereal
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Easter M&M’s or pastel candy-coated chocolates
  • 2 tablespoons Easter or spring sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Place the 9 cups of Chex cereal into a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter, 1/4 cup butter, and 1 cup milk chocolate chips.
  3. Microwave the mixture for about 1 minute until the chocolate and butter begin to melt.
  4. Stir the mixture until it becomes smooth and creamy. If needed, microwave in additional 10–15 second intervals.
  5. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and stir well to combine.
  6. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the Chex cereal and gently stir until all cereal pieces are evenly coated.
  7. Transfer the coated cereal into a large container or bowl with a lid.
  8. Add 2 cups powdered sugar over the cereal.
  9. Cover the container and shake well until the cereal is evenly coated with powdered sugar.
  10. Pour the mixture into a serving bowl and add 1 cup Easter M&M’s and 2 tablespoons sprinkles.
  11. Gently toss everything together and allow the mixture to cool before serving.

Notes

  • Use a large bowl to prevent the cereal from breaking while mixing.
  • Do not overheat the chocolate mixture, as it can become grainy.
  • Allow the coated cereal to cool completely before adding candies for best texture.
  • Store Easter Bunny Chow in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • For a peanut-free version, substitute peanut butter with sunflower seed butter.
