Description

A festive, beginner-friendly 4th of July Snack Mix made with cereals, pretzels, white chocolate, and candy. Perfect for no-bake party prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Chex cereal (corn or rice)
  • 1 cup mini pretzel twists or mini pretzel rods, broken in half
  • 2 cups Cap’n Crunch cereal (without berries)
  • 2 cups Honey Nut Cheerios cereal
  • 1 cup red, white, and blue M&M’s (or regular with only red and blue)
  • 16 oz white chocolate chips (about 2 3/4 cups)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vegetable or canola oil
  • 2 tablespoons red, white, and blue sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a large baking sheet (15×21 inches) with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine Chex cereal, pretzels, Cap’n Crunch, Honey Nut Cheerios, and M&M’s. Mix gently to avoid crushing the cereals.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and oil. Microwave for 30 seconds, stir, then microwave another 25 seconds. Stir until fully melted and smooth.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate over the cereal mix and gently stir until all pieces are evenly coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking sheet and spread into an even layer.
  6. While the chocolate is still soft, press in extra M&M’s and sprinkle on decorations if using.
  7. Let the mix set at room temperature or in the fridge for 15–20 minutes until firm. Break into pieces and serve.

Notes

  • Use high-quality white chocolate for the smoothest melting and best flavor.
  • Work quickly when mixing and spreading—the chocolate hardens fast.
  • To avoid burning chocolate, microwave in short intervals and stir frequently.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3–4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
