Description

This easy Garlic Aioli is a creamy, bold, and flavorful sauce made with mayonnaise, fresh garlic, and lemon juice. Perfect as a dip, spread, or drizzle for fries, sandwiches, seafood, and roasted vegetables, it comes together in minutes and tastes even better after chilling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) mayonnaise
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely minced (about 1 tablespoon)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons (22 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Add 1 cup mayonnaise to a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Finely mince the 3 garlic cloves or mash them into a paste for a smoother texture, then add to the bowl.
  3. Pour in 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice.
  4. Add 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt and 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper.
  5. Whisk everything together until smooth and fully combined.
  6. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Stir before serving and adjust seasoning if needed.

Notes

  • For a milder flavor, substitute roasted garlic for raw garlic.
  • Use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the brightest taste.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • If the flavor is too strong, mix in 1–2 extra tablespoons of mayonnaise to balance.
  • Allow resting time to enhance the garlic flavor and overall depth.
