Description
Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken is a sweet and savory dish made with simple ingredients, including brown sugar, garlic, and soy sauce, creating a deliciously sticky sauce that coats the chicken. It’s easy to make, with minimal active cooking time, and perfect for serving with rice or roasted vegetables.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 lbs chicken thighs, boneless skinless
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 10 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 3 tbsp sriracha (or chili garlic paste)
- 5 tbsp soy sauce
- 2/3 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 tsp black pepper (or to taste)
- 2 sprigs of green onion, diced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
- In a medium saucepan, combine chicken broth, brown sugar, sriracha, garlic, soy sauce, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer while whisking frequently.
- Pour half of the sauce into a baking dish, then place the chicken thighs in the dish and pour the remaining sauce over the chicken.
- Bake the chicken for 40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Garnish with green onion and sesame seeds. Serve with rice or other side dishes of choice.
Notes
- If you prefer chicken breasts, they can also be used, but adjust the cooking time as necessary.
- If you want a spicier dish, add more sriracha or chili garlic paste.
- Make sure to check the chicken’s internal temperature for proper doneness (165°F or 75°C).
