Description

Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken is a sweet and savory dish made with simple ingredients, including brown sugar, garlic, and soy sauce, creating a deliciously sticky sauce that coats the chicken. It’s easy to make, with minimal active cooking time, and perfect for serving with rice or roasted vegetables.


Ingredients

  • 3 lbs chicken thighs, boneless skinless
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 10 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp sriracha (or chili garlic paste)
  • 5 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2/3 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (or to taste)
  • 2 sprigs of green onion, diced


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine chicken broth, brown sugar, sriracha, garlic, soy sauce, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer while whisking frequently.
  4. Pour half of the sauce into a baking dish, then place the chicken thighs in the dish and pour the remaining sauce over the chicken.
  5. Bake the chicken for 40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  6. Garnish with green onion and sesame seeds. Serve with rice or other side dishes of choice.

Notes

  • If you prefer chicken breasts, they can also be used, but adjust the cooking time as necessary.
  • If you want a spicier dish, add more sriracha or chili garlic paste.
  • Make sure to check the chicken’s internal temperature for proper doneness (165°F or 75°C).
