Description

These delicious Greek Chicken Meatballs are easy to make, packed with Mediterranean flavor, and perfect for a quick, healthy meal. Made with lean ground chicken, fresh herbs, garlic, and lemon zest, they’re great for meal prep, weeknight dinners, or as a party appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground chicken: Lean protein base for the meatballs
  • 1 teaspoon salt: Enhances overall flavor
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper: Adds mild heat
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin: Provides warm, earthy notes
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground oregano: Traditional Mediterranean herb
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes: Adds a touch of spice
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped: Bright, herby flavor
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped: Adds aromatic freshness
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced: Slight sharpness and texture
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely minced: Deep savory flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest: Adds citrusy brightness
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil: For frying the meatballs

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, salt, black pepper, cumin, oregano, red pepper flakes, dill, mint, red onion, garlic, and lemon zest. Mix with your hands until well combined.
  2. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion the mixture and form into meatballs with damp hands to prevent sticking.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs in batches, cooking for 3-4 minutes per side until browned and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  4. Remove from skillet and serve warm with tzatziki, chopped vegetables, or your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure meatballs are fully cooked to 165°F.
  • Wet your hands before forming meatballs to prevent sticking.
  • You can bake the meatballs at 400°F for 15–20 minutes instead of pan-frying.
  • Freeze cooked or uncooked meatballs for easy future meals.
