Description

This Halloween Buffalo Chicken Dip is a spooky, creamy, and spicy party appetizer perfect for your Halloween festivities. Topped with mozzarella cheese ghosts, it’s fun, festive, and delicious — guaranteed to disappear fast at any gathering!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shredded chicken: forms the hearty, protein-packed base of the dip
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened: creates a creamy foundation and balances spice
  • 1-2 cups buffalo sauce: adds the signature spicy and tangy flavor
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing: cools down the heat and adds creamy texture
  • 1/2 lb sliced mozzarella cheese: cut into ghost shapes for the festive Halloween look
  • 1 tube black decorating gel: used to add spooky faces to the ghost cheese slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a zip-top bag or large bowl, combine shredded chicken and buffalo sauce. Toss until evenly coated.
  3. Spread softened cream cheese in an even layer on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Layer the buffalo chicken mixture evenly on top of the cream cheese.
  5. Drizzle ranch dressing over the buffalo chicken, spreading gently with a spatula.
  6. Use a cookie cutter to cut ghost shapes out of the mozzarella cheese slices. Place them evenly on top of the dip.
  7. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the dip is heated through.
  8. Remove from the oven and carefully use the decorating gel to draw eyes and mouths on the cheese ghosts.
  9. Serve warm with chips, bread, crackers, or veggies.

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken for extra flavor and less prep time.
  • The smaller you shred the chicken, the smoother the dip texture.
  • Use sliced cheese instead of shredded to keep ghost shapes intact during baking.
  • Make ahead and refrigerate unbaked; add 5 more minutes to bake time if chilled.
  • Decorate ghosts only after baking to avoid smudging.
