Description

Halloween Cake Pops are the perfect festive treat for your Halloween party. These bite-sized treats are made from moist cake, creamy frosting, and a colorful candy coating, perfect for both kids and adults. With spooky designs like pumpkins, Frankenstein, and mummies, they’re not only delicious but also a fun activity to make with your loved ones.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box vanilla or chocolate cake mix (or 1 recipe homemade cake)
  • 1/2 cup frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 bag candy melts (orange, green, and white)
  • 1 package lollipop sticks
  • 1/4 cup sprinkles or candy eyes (for decoration)
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips (for details)
  • 1 tablespoon edible glitter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cake mix according to package instructions, then bake and let it cool completely.
  2. Once cooled, crumble the cake into small crumbs and mix in the frosting until the mixture holds its shape.
  3. Roll the cake mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a tray.
  4. Melt the candy melts in separate bowls, each in the color of your desired decoration.
  5. Dip the tip of the lollipop sticks into the melted candy and insert them into the cake balls to help them stay on the stick.
  6. Dip each cake pop into the melted candy melts, fully coating them in color.
  7. Let the cake pops sit in the fridge for 30 minutes to allow the coating to set.
  8. Once set, decorate with sprinkles, candy eyes, or melted chocolate to add detailing, such as making a mummy or Frankenstein.
  9. Allow the cake pops to harden fully before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure to refrigerate the cake pops for at least 30 minutes to help the candy coating set properly.
  • If the cake pops start falling off the sticks, ensure the candy coating is thick enough for a strong hold.
  • Feel free to use different cake and frosting flavors to suit your taste preferences.
  • If you’re short on time, store-bought frosting works perfectly for this recipe.
