Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces mozzarella Ciligiene
- 1 pint cherry tomatoes
- ¼ cup fresh basil leaves
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and drain the mozzarella Ciligiene balls.
- Prepare the silicone skull molds by lightly brushing or spraying them with oil.
- Place one mozzarella ball in each skull cavity of the mold.
- Bake the mozzarella balls in the oven for 6-8 minutes to soften them.
- Press the mozzarella balls into the molds using a folded paper towel to absorb excess liquid and ensure sharp skull details.
- Refrigerate the mozzarella skulls for 10-15 minutes to set the shapes.
- Assemble the skewers by threading the mozzarella skulls, basil leaves, and cherry tomatoes onto bamboo skewers.
- Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, or serve balsamic on the side for dipping.
Notes
- For a thicker, more intense flavor, substitute balsamic vinegar with balsamic glaze.
- These skewers can be made ahead of time, but add the balsamic drizzle just before serving to maintain freshness.
- Vegan mozzarella can be used as a substitute for regular mozzarella if needed.
