Description

These Halloween Oreo Brownies are rich, fudgy, and layered with festive orange-filled Oreo cookies both inside and on top. Perfect for spooky parties or a chocolate lover’s treat, they’re simple to make yet impressive enough to wow your guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2/3 cup butter – provides richness and fudgy texture
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil – adds extra moisture
  • 1 cup granulated sugar – sweetens and balances cocoa
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar – enhances chewiness with caramel notes
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder – gives deep chocolate flavor
  • 2 large eggs (cold) – bind ingredients and add structure
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – adds warm flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt – balances sweetness
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour – provides structure
  • 15 Halloween Oreos – layered in the center
  • 5 extra Oreos – crushed for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together in 30-second intervals, stirring in between. Once fully melted, microwave for another minute and stir well to help dissolve the sugar.
  3. Whisk in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract. Mix until the batter slightly pulls away from the bowl.
  4. Fold in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Spread half of the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  6. Place the 15 Oreos in a layer over the batter, then cover with the remaining brownie batter, spreading to cover completely.
  7. Sprinkle the 5 crushed Oreos on top.
  8. Bake for about 30 minutes or until the center is just set.
  9. Cool completely on a wire rack before slicing into squares for the best fudgy texture and clean cuts.

Notes

  • Cool brownies fully before slicing—ideally 6–8 hours for clean cuts.
  • Dip a sharp knife in warm water and wipe clean between slices for neat edges.
  • No microwave? Use a double boiler to melt butter, oil, and sugars.
  • For a fun twist, top cooled brownies with orange frosting or ganache.
  • Brownies freeze well for up to 3 months in an airtight container.
