Halloween Pizza Skulls

Halloween Pizza Skulls

Halloween Pizza Skulls are spooky, skull-shaped pizza pockets filled with delicious mozzarella, pepperoni, and veggies. Perfect for Halloween parties, these eerie treats are easy to make, fun to eat, and sure to be a hit with both kids and adults!

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 6-8 skulls 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices, chopped
  • 1/4 cup black olives, sliced
  • 1/4 cup green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • Cooking spray
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

Preheat the Oven for Perfect Results:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This step is crucial for ensuring that your pizza skulls come out golden and crispy. Lightly spray your skull-shaped mold with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Prepare the Dough:

On a lightly floured surface, unroll the pizza dough and cut it into pieces large enough to cover each skull mold cavity. This gives you the perfect base to hold your pizza fillings.

Assemble the Pizza Skulls:

Now comes the exciting part: filling the skulls! Press the dough into each cavity of your skull mold, making sure there’s some overhang for sealing. Spoon in 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce, then sprinkle on mozzarella cheese, chopped pepperoni, black olives, green bell peppers, and red onion. Top it off with more cheese for extra gooeyness!

Seal and Bake:

Fold the extra dough over the fillings to seal each skull. Press down lightly to ensure the dough sticks. Brush the tops with olive oil, then sprinkle on dried oregano and garlic powder for extra flavor. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the skulls are golden brown.

Cool and Serve:

Once out of the oven, let the pizza skulls cool in the mold for about 5 minutes. Carefully remove them and serve warm. These creepy treats will disappear in no time!

Notes

  • Using Store-Bought Dough: If you’re in a pinch, you can use store-bought dough. Just make sure it’s refrigerated for easy handling.
  • Making Ahead: Assemble the pizza skulls ahead of time and refrigerate them until you’re ready to bake. This is a great hack if you’re prepping for a party.
  • Skull Molds: If you don’t have a skull mold, you can still make this recipe by shaping the dough into mini calzones or pockets. You might lose the spooky effect, but the taste will still be fantastic.
