Ingredients
Scale
For the Sliders:
- 12 Hawaiian rolls
- 16 oz breakfast sausage
- 6 large eggs
- 4 oz Colby Jack cheese, sliced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Maple Butter Glaze:
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a baking dish to prevent sticking and ensure even browning.
- Cook the sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and cooked through, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess grease to avoid soggy sliders.
- Scramble the eggs: Crack the eggs into a bowl, season with salt and pepper, and whisk until well combined. Pour into the skillet over low heat and cook covered until the eggs set into a soft sheet. Avoid high heat to prevent overcooking.
- Slice the rolls: Without separating the rolls, slice them in half horizontally using a serrated knife. Place the bottom half in the baking dish.
- Assemble the sliders: Layer the eggs evenly over the bottom half of the rolls, then top with cooked sausage and cheese slices. Place the top half of the rolls back on.
- Make the glaze: In a small bowl, mix melted butter and maple syrup until combined. Brush generously over the tops of the rolls for a golden, flavorful finish.
- Bake the sliders: Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 5–7 minutes until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted.
- Cool and serve: Let the sliders cool for a few minutes before cutting between each one with a serrated knife. Serve warm.
Notes
- You can use pre-cooked sausage patties to save time. Try adding sautéed onions, spinach, or jalapeños for extra flavor. For a vegetarian version, replace meat with grilled veggies or plant-based sausage. The maple glaze can be swapped with garlic butter for a savory twist. Leftovers store well and are perfect for grab-and-go breakfasts.
