Description
A refreshing homemade peach lemonade made with ripe peaches, fresh lemon juice, and natural sweeteners. Perfect for summer and easy to prepare.
Ingredients
- 20 oz peaches (about 3 large peaches)
- 1.5 cups white granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- 2 cups water (for cooking peaches)
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 5-6 ripe lemons)
- 2 cups cold water (for mixing)
Instructions
- Peel and slice the peaches, removing the pits. Add them to a saucepan with sugar, vanilla extract, and 2 cups of water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then lower to medium-low and cook until peaches are soft. Remove from heat and let cool.
- While the peaches cool, juice the lemons. Strain the juice through a fine mesh strainer to remove seeds and pulp.
- Pour the cooled peach mixture into a large pitcher. Strain out the fruit for a smoother texture or leave it in for added body.
- Add the lemon juice and 2 cups of cold water to the pitcher. Stir well and refrigerate until cold. Serve over ice with optional garnishes like mint or peach slices.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm peaches for the best flavor.
- If using frozen peaches, thaw before cooking.
- Add sugar gradually to adjust sweetness to taste.
- Strain the peach mixture for a clear lemonade or leave some fruit for texture.
- Juice lemons at room temperature for better yield.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 10 days.
- Freeze lemonade concentrate for future use—just add water when serving.
