Description

Jam Puff Pastry Tarts are a quick and easy dessert made with store-bought puff pastry and your favorite jam. These flaky, golden tarts are perfect for any occasion, from a casual snack to a last-minute dessert for a gathering. The combination of the buttery pastry and sweet jam filling is a treat everyone will love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sheets store-bought puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup jam (your choice of flavor, such as mixed berry)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Raw turbinado sugar, for sprinkling
  • Flour, for dusting the work surface

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface to about 10-11 inches square.
  3. Cut the puff pastry into 9 squares, using a ruler for even measurements.
  4. Prick each square with a fork to prevent puffing during baking.
  5. Add about 1 teaspoon of jam to the center of each square.
  6. Brush the edges of each square with beaten egg to create a better seal.
  7. Fold the corners of each square towards the center and twist to seal the tarts.
  8. Brush the tops of the tarts with the remaining egg wash and sprinkle with turbinado sugar for texture and shine.
  9. Bake the tarts for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving to avoid burning your mouth on the hot jam.

Notes

  • Ensure the puff pastry is fully thawed before working with it.
  • Pricking the pastry with a fork helps prevent the tarts from puffing too much and spilling jam.
  • Use a light hand with the jam to avoid overflow during baking.
  • After baking, you can gently push the corners of any tarts that have opened back into the jam.
  • These tarts can be made ahead of time and baked when needed.
