Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz fettuccine pasta
- 4 slices of bacon, chopped
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to the package instructions until it’s al dente. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
- Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Once done, remove the bacon from the skillet and drain it on a plate lined with paper towels. Leave the bacon grease in the skillet — this will add flavor to the beef and the sauce!
- Brown the Beef: In the same skillet with the bacon grease, add the ground beef. Cook over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spoon until it’s browned and cooked through. If there’s excess fat, drain it out.
- Add Seasonings: Time to bring in the flavor! Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix everything well so that the seasonings blend evenly with the beef.
- Create the Alfredo Sauce: Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream. Allow it to simmer for a few minutes until it starts to thicken slightly. Gradually add the shredded cheddar and Parmesan cheeses, stirring continuously until the cheeses melt and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Now, add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet, tossing it in the creamy cheese sauce until it’s well-coated. Finally, mix in the crispy bacon pieces, ensuring they’re evenly distributed throughout the dish.
Notes
- Cheese Selection: Feel free to experiment with different cheeses! Monterey Jack, mozzarella, or even gouda can bring a unique flavor twist to your dish.
- Meat Alternatives: Not a beef fan? You can swap it with ground chicken, turkey, or even plant-based meat alternatives.
- Extra Creaminess: For an even richer sauce, add a little extra heavy cream or a dollop of cream cheese.
- Veggie Add-ins: If you’re looking to sneak in some veggies, consider adding sautéed mushrooms, onions, or bell peppers.
