Description

Loaded Tater Tot Nachos are a fun and easy twist on classic nachos, using crispy tater tots as the base and layering them with melted cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, and fresh toppings like tomatoes, green onions, and sour cream. Perfect for game day, parties, or a quick weeknight snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (32-ounce) bag Tater Tots
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 8 ounces lean ground beef (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning (optional)
  • 1 cup diced fresh tomatoes
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup water (for taco seasoning if using beef)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. If using ground beef, heat a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning and 1/4 cup of water. Simmer for 4–5 minutes or until liquid has evaporated.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread tater tots in a single layer and bake for 20 minutes, turning once halfway through.
  5. Remove from oven and top with cooked bacon, optional seasoned beef, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Return to oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Top with diced tomatoes and sliced green onions.
  8. Serve immediately with sour cream on the side or dolloped on top.

Notes

  • Customize with jalapeños, black olives, or avocado for extra flavor.
  • Use pepper jack cheese for a spicy version.
  • Vegetarian? Skip the meat and load up on veggies and beans.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven to keep the tots crispy.
