A quick and flavorful dish featuring juicy chicken bites coated in a rich maple glaze and topped with crispy bacon. Perfect for busy weeknights or as an appetizer.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 8 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or oil (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Season the bite-sized chicken pieces with salt and black pepper. Set aside while preparing the bacon and glaze.
  2. Cook the Bacon: Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the bacon until crispy. Once done, transfer it to a paper towel-lined plate and crumble into small pieces.
  3. Make the Maple Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
  4. Cook the Chicken: Lightly grease a large skillet and heat over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes.
  5. Add the Glaze: Reduce heat to medium-low and pour the maple glaze over the cooked chicken. Toss to coat evenly and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Incorporate the Bacon: Sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the glazed chicken, stir to combine, and serve hot.

Notes

  • If the glaze thickens too much, add a teaspoon of water and stir to loosen it.
  • Serve over rice, quinoa, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a subtle heat.
