Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 8 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
- ½ cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Cooking spray or oil (for greasing)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Season the bite-sized chicken pieces with salt and black pepper. Set aside while preparing the bacon and glaze.
- Cook the Bacon: Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the bacon until crispy. Once done, transfer it to a paper towel-lined plate and crumble into small pieces.
- Make the Maple Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
- Cook the Chicken: Lightly grease a large skillet and heat over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes.
- Add the Glaze: Reduce heat to medium-low and pour the maple glaze over the cooked chicken. Toss to coat evenly and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Incorporate the Bacon: Sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the glazed chicken, stir to combine, and serve hot.
Notes
- If the glaze thickens too much, add a teaspoon of water and stir to loosen it.
- Serve over rice, quinoa, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a subtle heat.
