Description

These Maple Glazed Apple Blondies are a chewy, sweet dessert with apple filling and a warm maple glaze. Perfect for the fall season, they offer a rich, comforting taste that combines the flavors of apple pie with a soft blondie texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 large apples (finely chopped)
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp butter (for glaze)
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 11×7 pan with tin foil or spray with cooking spray.
  2. In a medium saucepan, cook apple filling ingredients over medium-low heat for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  3. Cream butter with dark brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 1 minute.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and salt.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  6. Spread half of the blondie batter in the prepared pan. Top with apple filling.
  7. Spread remaining blondie batter over the apples.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a cake tester comes out clean.
  9. For the glaze, melt butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon over low heat. Sift in powdered sugar and whisk until smooth. Let cool for 8-10 minutes.
  10. Pour the glaze over the cooled blondies, allowing it to set before slicing into squares.

Notes

  • Make sure to test the blondies with a cake tester before removing from the oven to ensure they are fully cooked.
  • The glaze can be thickened by allowing it to cool a bit longer before pouring over the blondies.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or freeze for up to 2 months.
