Description

Mint Oreo Balls are easy no-bake chocolate truffles made with crushed Mint Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and a smooth chocolate coating. These bite-sized treats are creamy on the inside with a rich chocolate shell, perfect for holidays, parties, or make-ahead desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (15.25 oz / 432 g) Mint Oreo cookies, finely crushed
  • 8 oz (226 g) full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 2 1/2 cups (about 425 g) mint green and semi-sweet melting chocolate or chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon (15 g) green or semi-sweet chocolate chips (for drizzle, optional)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) coconut oil or shortening (optional, for thinning chocolate)
  • 1 tablespoon (10 g) green sprinkles (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Mint Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or blender. If crushing by hand, place cookies in a sealed plastic bag and roll with a rolling pin until finely crushed.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cookie crumbs with the softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended.
  3. Scoop about 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of the mixture and roll into smooth balls using your hands. Place each ball on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Freeze the balls for 20 to 30 minutes to firm up before dipping.
  5. Melt the melting chocolate or chocolate chips in the microwave in 20-30 second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth. If needed, stir in 1 teaspoon coconut oil to thin the chocolate.
  6. Dip each chilled ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Tap off excess chocolate and place back on the lined baking sheet.
  7. If desired, melt 1 tablespoon chocolate chips and drizzle over the tops. Immediately add sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
  8. Refrigerate for 20 minutes or until the coating is fully set. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Do not skip freezing before dipping, as this prevents crumbs from mixing into the chocolate.
  • Use room temperature cream cheese for a smooth filling without lumps.
  • If chocolate becomes too thick, add a small amount of coconut oil to improve consistency.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
  • Freeze for up to 2 months and thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
