The sweet, juicy nectarines are topped with a warm, golden streusel, making it the perfect treat for any occasion, whether served warm with ice cream or chilled as a refreshing dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 7-8 cups fresh nectarines, chopped
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup toasted chopped pecans
  • 9 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Dice nectarines and place in a large bowl with lemon juice. Stir to combine.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon, then sprinkle over nectarines. Stir until coated.
  4. In another bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, and pecans.
  5. Cut butter into the oat mixture using a fork or fingers until crumbles form.
  6. Place fruit mixture in a 9×13-inch baking dish, then add the streusel topping on top, gently pressing down.
  7. Bake for 30-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
  8. Allow the crisp to cool for at least 20 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • If using frozen nectarines, thaw and drain thoroughly to avoid excess moisture.
  • For a gluten-free version, use certified gluten-free oats and a gluten-free flour blend.
  • The streusel can be made up to 3 days in advance and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or caramel sauce for an extra indulgence.
