Description

These rich and creamy Nutella Truffles are a no-bake dessert dream come true. Made with Nutella, heavy cream, and semi-sweet chocolate, they’re perfect for holidays, parties, or a sweet indulgence anytime. Roll them in cocoa powder, hazelnuts, or sprinkles for a decadent finish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Nutella: adds a creamy hazelnut flavor and richness
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream: creates a silky ganache texture
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped: adds depth and structure
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract: enhances the overall flavor
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt: balances the sweetness and intensifies flavor
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder: used for coating, adds contrast and bitterness
  • Optional: chopped hazelnuts, crushed cookies, or sprinkles for coating: add texture and visual appeal

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Do not let it boil.
  2. Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit for 1-2 minutes to melt.
  3. Stir gently until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  4. Add Nutella, vanilla extract, and salt to the melted chocolate. Stir until the mixture is fully combined and silky.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the mixture is firm enough to shape.
  6. Using a small cookie scoop or teaspoon, scoop small portions of the mixture. Roll each portion between your palms to form smooth, round truffles.
  7. Place the cocoa powder or other coatings (chopped hazelnuts, crushed cookies, or sprinkles) in a shallow bowl. Roll each truffle in your chosen coating until evenly covered.
  8. Arrange the coated truffles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.
  9. Serve and enjoy your rich Nutella truffles!

Notes

  • Use gloves to roll truffles and avoid melting from hand heat.
  • Freeze for up to 1 month and thaw in the fridge before serving.
  • Double coat in toppings for added crunch and presentation.
  • Use dark chocolate for a less sweet variation.
