- 1 lb chicken breasts (4 thin fillets)
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp butter (divided)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3/4 cup white wine or chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Season both sides of the chicken with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- In an oven-proof skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat and sear the chicken for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden. Remove and set aside.
- Deglaze the skillet with wine or broth, scraping the bottom, and let it reduce for 5–6 minutes.
- Add remaining butter and garlic. Cook until fragrant, then stir in heavy cream, parmesan, and lemon juice. Cook until the sauce thickens.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over each fillet.
- Transfer skillet to oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Serve hot with extra sauce and optional garnish like parsley or capers.
