Description

One Pot Cheesy Smoked Sausage Pasta is a comforting and easy meal that’s made in one pot for minimal cleanup. The creamy cheese sauce and smoky sausage combine with pasta to create a savory, satisfying dish perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz Smoked Sausage (sliced)
  • 12 oz Pasta (penne or rotini works best)
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese (cubed)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 small Onion (diced)
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for 3 minutes until softened.
  3. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring to a boil, then add the pasta. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10-12 minutes, until pasta is tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed.
  4. Stir in cubed cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese until smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the cooked sausage back into the skillet and mix everything together. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you prefer a creamier sauce, you can add a bit more heavy cream or milk.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or mushrooms for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • For a spicier version, try adding red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat by adding a splash of milk or cream to restore the sauce’s consistency.
