One Pot Cheesy Smoked Sausage Pasta is a comforting and easy meal that’s made in one pot for minimal cleanup. The creamy cheese sauce and smoky sausage combine with pasta to create a savory, satisfying dish perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz Smoked Sausage (sliced)
- 12 oz Pasta (penne or rotini works best)
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
- 4 oz Cream Cheese (cubed)
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 small Onion (diced)
- 2 cups Chicken Broth
- 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for 3 minutes until softened.
- Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring to a boil, then add the pasta. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10-12 minutes, until pasta is tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed.
- Stir in cubed cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Add the cooked sausage back into the skillet and mix everything together. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- If you prefer a creamier sauce, you can add a bit more heavy cream or milk.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or mushrooms for extra flavor and nutrition.
- For a spicier version, try adding red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat by adding a splash of milk or cream to restore the sauce’s consistency.
