Description

Orange Creamsicle Truffles are rich, no-bake treats combining creamy white chocolate with bright citrus flavor. These bite-sized truffles are easy to make, perfect for gifts, parties, or a refreshing dessert any time of year.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup butter: adds richness and helps blend orange flavor
  • Zest of 1/2 orange: provides fresh citrus aroma and flavor
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream: creates a smooth, velvety texture
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips: forms the creamy truffle base
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange extract: intensifies citrus flavor
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar: for coating and sweetness
  • Red and yellow food coloring (optional): adds visual appeal

Instructions

  1. Place white chocolate chips in a mixing bowl and set aside.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt the butter with orange zest over medium heat to infuse the oils.
  3. Add heavy cream to the saucepan and heat until small bubbles appear around the edges (do not boil).
  4. Pour the hot cream mixture through a fine mesh sieve over the white chocolate chips. Press zest into the sieve to extract extra oils.
  5. Add the orange extract and let the mixture sit for 1 minute.
  6. Add optional food coloring, then stir the mixture until completely smooth.
  7. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for about 2 hours, until the mixture is firm enough to shape.
  8. Use a teaspoon to scoop the mixture and roll into small balls.
  9. Roll each truffle in powdered sugar until fully coated.
  10. Freeze truffles for 20 minutes to set. Store in refrigerator or freeze for up to 1 month.

Notes

  • Use high-quality white chocolate for best results and smooth texture.
  • Don’t overheat cream; just scald it until bubbles form around the edges.
  • Wear gloves when rolling to prevent melting and sticking.
  • Add more or less orange extract to adjust flavor strength.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep truffles firm.
