Description
Oreo truffles are a rich, no-bake dessert made with crushed Oreos, cream cheese, and melted chocolate. These bite-sized treats are fudgy, indulgent, and easy to prepare with just three ingredients. Perfect for holidays, parties, and edible gifts, they can be customized with different toppings or Oreo flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 36 Oreo cookies: crushed into fine crumbs for the base of the truffles
- 8 oz (225g) cream cheese: softened, used to bind the cookie crumbs into a dough
- 12 oz (340g) semi-sweet chocolate or white chocolate: melted for coating
- 2 tbsp crushed Oreos or sprinkles: optional, for topping
Instructions
- Add the Oreo cookies to a food processor and blend until finely crushed.
- Add softened cream cheese and mix until fully combined and a thick dough forms.
- Scoop and roll the mixture into 1-inch balls using a small cookie scoop or your hands. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Freeze the truffle balls for 20–30 minutes to firm them up before dipping.
- Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
- Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate using a fork. Tap off excess and return to the lined tray.
- Sprinkle with crushed Oreos or sprinkles while the coating is still wet, if desired.
- Let the chocolate set completely at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.
Notes
- Use full-fat cream cheese for best texture and flavor.
- Keep truffles chilled during coating to prevent melting or crumbling.
- Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Experiment with different Oreo flavors for a fun twist.
