Description

  • 9 oz Fritos corn chips
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)


Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and spread the Fritos evenly across the bottom.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the light corn syrup and granulated sugar. Microwave for 1 minute, stir well, and continue microwaving in 1-minute increments until the mixture begins to boil, which should take about 3 minutes in total.
  3. Remove the mixture from the microwave and stir in the peanut butter until smooth.
  4. Pour the peanut butter mixture evenly over the Fritos. Do not stir. Ensure all chips are coated.
  5. If using, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, then spread the melted chocolate over the peanut butter-covered Fritos.
  6. Allow the bars to cool for about 1 hour to set. Once cooled, cut into bars or squares.

Notes

  • Store leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
  • For a healthier version, try using natural peanut butter with no added sugar.
