Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan. Line with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large bowl, whisk together 1 cup melted butter and 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add 4 eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Sift in 1 cup flour, 1 cup cocoa powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix gently until just combined.
- Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 20–25 minutes until a toothpick shows moist crumbs.
- While baking, prepare the topping by whisking 1 cup corn syrup, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 3 eggs, 2 tablespoons melted butter, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Stir in 2 cups chopped pecans until evenly coated.
- Remove the partially baked brownies from the oven and let cool slightly.
- Pour the pecan mixture evenly over the brownie layer.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 25–30 minutes until the topping is set and golden.
- Allow to cool completely before slicing into squares and serving.
