These Pizza Roses for Valentine’s Day are a creative, romantic twist on classic pizza, baked into rose-shaped appetizers using pizza dough, marinara sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni. Perfect for a quick date-night treat or Valentine’s Day celebration.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can pizza dough: forms the base and structure of the roses
- 1/3 cup marinara sauce: adds tangy flavor and moisture
- 6 slices mozzarella cheese: provides melty, creamy texture
- 18–24 slices pepperoni: adds savory, spicy kick
- Non-stick spray or butter: to grease muffin tin
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 6-cup muffin tin with non-stick spray or butter.
- Roll out pizza dough on a clean surface into a rectangle.
- Using a pizza cutter, slice the dough into six equal long horizontal strips.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce over each strip, adjusting the amount to your taste.
- Place slices of mozzarella evenly on top of the sauce on each strip.
- Arrange 3–4 slices of pepperoni along each strip, ensuring half of each slice hangs off the top edge.
- Carefully roll each strip from one end to the other, forming a rose shape.
- Place each rolled strip into a greased muffin tin compartment.
- Bake for 15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before removing and serving.
Notes
- Use parchment paper liners for easier removal and cleanup.
- Don’t overfill with sauce to avoid soggy dough.
- Try adding fresh basil or red pepper flakes for a flavor boost.
- Perfect with a side of garlic dip or ranch.
