Pork Chop Supreme is a comforting casserole dish featuring tender boneless pork chops layered with thinly sliced potatoes and smothered in a creamy onion-mushroom sauce. It’s an easy, one-pan meal perfect for weeknight dinners.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless pork chops
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup oil for browning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the pork chops: In a skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and cook until browned on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain excess oil.
  3. Prepare the potatoes: While the pork chops are browning, slice the potatoes thinly and arrange them in an even layer at the bottom of a medium casserole dish.
  4. Layer the pork chops: Place the browned pork chops on top of the sliced potatoes.
  5. Make the sauce: In a bowl, combine the onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, and milk. Stir until well mixed.
  6. Pour the sauce over the pork chops and potatoes, making sure everything is evenly coated.
  7. Bake: Cover the casserole dish with foil and bake for about 1 hour, or until the potatoes are tender and the pork is fully cooked.
  8. Serve: Let the dish cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Try Bone-In Chops: While boneless chops are more convenient, bone-in pork chops can add even more flavor to the dish. Just increase the cooking time slightly to ensure they’re cooked through.
  • Use a Mandolin: For perfectly even potato slices, use a mandolin slicer. Even slices cook more evenly and create a more consistent texture in the casserole.
  • Make it Healthier: If you’re watching your calorie or sodium intake, try using reduced-sodium cream of mushroom soup and Lipton onion soup mix. You can also swap out the cream of mushroom for cream of chicken or even homemade sauce for a fresher taste.
